| Abstract | A análise da dinâmica dos focos de queimadas no estado do Pará, do ponto de vista meteorológico, indicou que os dois principais sistemas produtores de precipitação no Brasil, isto é, a Zona de Convergência Intertropical (ZCIT) e a Zona de Convergência do Atlântico Sul (ZCAS), modulam a sua variabilidade. Esses sistemas, quando ausentes e juntamente com as atividades antrópicas, contribuem de forma significativa para maior incidência de focos de queimadas. Esse estado foi escolhido por apresentar em valores absolutos a maior quantidade de registros (19,3%) de focos quando comparado com os demais estados brasileiros. Esses focos são mais frequentes no segundo semestre, com máxima atividade em agosto e setembro na parte sul do estado. Em média, no segundo semestre, durante os meses mais críticos os píxeis permanecem com fogo ativo em torno de 12 dias, enquanto que, no primeiro semestre, por apenas 5 dias. ABSTRACT: Analysis of the dynamics of the active vegetation fires in the state of Pará from the meteorological point of view has shown that the two main precipitation systems in Brazil - the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the South Atlantic Convergence Zone (SACZ) - modulate its variability. These systems, when absent and together with anthropogenic activities, contribute significantly to the increased activity of fires. This state was examined because it presented in absolute values the highest number of records (19.3%) of active fires when compared with other Brazilian states. These fires are most frequent in the second half of the year with peak activity in August and September in the southern part of the state. On average, in the second half of the year, during the most critical months, the pixels show active fires for about 12 days, while in the first half, only for 5 days. |
